Wavegarden does not publish a single system price; a standard Cove measures 160 by 160 metres, about 20,000 square metres including the beginner bays.

HOW IT WORKS

A Wavegarden Cove generates waves from a central pier of independently controlled electromechanical modules. Firing them in sequence sends a peeling wave down both sides of the pool at once, and the module count sets the pool's size and output, up to about 1,000 waves an hour. Beginner bays are 0.5 to 1.2 metres deep and expert reefs 1.0 to 2.5 metres, so one Cove can run a beginner bay and an advanced peak in the same session.

BACKGROUND

Wavegarden was founded in 2005 in San Sebastián, Spain, by spouses Josema Odriozola, an engineer, and Karin Frisch, a sports economist. Its headquarters and R&D centre are in the Basque Country, and it describes a team of more than 90 specialists. The Cove launched in 2017, and the first commercial Coves opened at The Wave in Bristol, England and URBNSURF Melbourne, Australia.
