Northern California's first serious inland surf proposal, still at the permission stage. Promising, unproven, slow by design of the system it lives in.
Alchemy Surf Resort is a proposed 25-acre surf complex inside the Placer One masterplan near Roseville, in Northern California's Sacramento region. Founders Chris and Andrea Gallardo of Inland Surf Company filed the entitlement application with Placer County; if approved, they aim to break ground in 2026 and open around late 2027 or 2028.
Plans pair a five-acre Wavegarden Cove with a Citywave standing wave, covering both traveling and flow riding on one site. Sacramento sits two hours from Santa Cruz's cold, crowded lineups, so the inland market logic is straightforward.
Sacramento-area surfers and Tahoe-corridor athletes, eventually. Right now it is a paper project with a strong site plan.
No pricing exists at this stage.
Nothing to book, likely for years. Watch Placer County's approval process; that is the milestone that matters.
