Beyond The Club is a private members-only sports and leisure club in Santo Amaro, São Paulo, on a site of more than 70,000 square meters beside the Transamerica Bridge. Its centerpiece is a 28,000-square-meter lagoon driven by a 62-module Wavegarden Cove, which Wavegarden calls the largest and most powerful of its kind ever built. Three-time world champion Gabriel Medina is a business partner and tested the first waves in May 2025, and Wavegarden gave October 2025 as the date for the full opening.
The lagoon was the first to use a newly designed Wavegarden bathymetry. Wavegarden lists more than 25 wave types, from soft rollers to steep barrels, with rides of up to 30 seconds, waves up to 2 meters, and Malibu-style rollers lasting about 34 seconds. The barrel section runs about nine seconds, potentially eleven for experienced tube riders, and the system is rated at 200 to 250 waves an hour. The club organizes sessions by level: Beginner 1 and 2, Intermediate 1 and 2, Advanced 1, 2 and 3, and Expert levels including Slabs.
Members who want a full-performance Wavegarden Cove on their doorstep in São Paulo, from long Malibu-style rollers for beginners to barrels and slabs for experts. It is not a drop-in venue: surfing is for members and their dependents only.
