The cheapest way onto a wave pool in 2026 costs about $27, for whitewater practice in the Bays at URBNSURF in Melbourne or Sydney. But the cheapest session is often a beginner product in a shallow bay, not an hour on the main wave, and session lengths run from 30 to 60 minutes. So this list separates the cheapest way in from the cheapest hour on a main lagoon wave. Cheapest way into a lagoon
- URBNSURF, Melbourne and Sydney: about $27 (AUD 39). Surf in the Bays, softboard whitewater practice.
- RIF010, Rotterdam: about $51 (EUR 45). A 60-minute Rookie session on the city-centre canal pool.
- The Wave, Bristol: about $58 (from GBP 44). A beginner session in the whitewater bay; prices change by date and time.
- Wave Park, South Korea: about $59 (KRW 80,000). An hour of free surfing in the Bay.
- DSRT Surf, California: $65. Bay and Play, a beginner hour in the Bay.
Cheapest hour on the main lagoon wave
- The Wave: about $73 (from GBP 55) for Improver to Advanced Plus sessions.
- URBNSURF Melbourne: about $77 (AUD 109) for a Point session, Cruiser to Advanced, Monday to Thursday; board and wetsuit hire are extra.
- Lost Shore, Edinburgh: about $80 (GBP 60) for Cruiser, Cruiser Plus or Turns, with a board included and a wetsuit £8 extra.
- ADRENA, Saudi Arabia: about $80 (SAR 300) for a Split Peak session.
Cheapest standing waves
Standing waves are usually cheaper per session, but check the length:
- Lakeside Surf, Washington: $40 for 45 minutes, in season from April to October at most.
- Honna Surf Hub, Madrid: about $45 (EUR 39.90) for a 45-minute session once you have ridden the wave before.
- RheinRiff, Düsseldorf: about $46 (EUR 39.99) for an open session.
- irie surf, Freiburg: about $47 (EUR 41) for 30 minutes.
- Surf Langenfeld, Germany: about $55 (EUR 48) for a full 60 minutes, twice the length of many standing-wave sessions.
