Wakeparadise Milano

Wakeparadise Milano runs a standing-wave surf pool inside the Idroscalo park, at the south entrance on Via Idroscalo in Peschiera Borromeo, next to Milan Linate airport. It opened on 21 June 2019 alongside the club's existing cable wake park. The wave comes from a floating platform with powerful pumps, built with UNIT Parktech, and at launch was described as up to 1.6 metres high and 10 metres wide.

A continuous standing wave ridden in rotation. Sessions come in three levels: Beginner, with an instructor in the water, suits first-timers and children from 8; Advance runs on the same wave without instructor assistance, for riders who have already surfed a standing wave; and Pro runs on the highest, most powerful setting for turns and airs. Every rider gets 7.5 minutes on the wave, taken in several turns.

Milan-area surfers who want regular time on a wave close to the city, first-timers who want an instructor beside them in the water, and wakeboarders already using the cable park. Children can join from age 8.

A session is 55 euros with a soft board included (and a wetsuit in colder months), for 7.5 minutes of wave time per rider: the slot runs an hour with 8 to 12 riders and shorter with fewer, down to 15 minutes for two. A 10-session punchcard is 390 euros, valid for a year. A private session is 500 euros, and a hard performance board rents for 20 euros an hour. Book online, and choose a Beginner session if you have never surfed a standing wave. Arrive 20 minutes early for the safety briefing. Bring swimwear, a towel and sandals; board, leash and protection are provided. Opening hours from May to September are noon to sunset on weekdays and 10am to sunset at weekends; April and October are 11am to sunset daily; November to March is Friday to Monday only, from noon. Thursday is closed outside winter. Cancellations more than 24 hours ahead are refunded as credit.
