Southern Shores is a private residential watersports community in Hurricane, Utah, about 30 minutes from Zion National Park, built around three private lakes including a UNIT Surf Pool standing wave. The 80-acre development has 56 estate lots, 34 of them lakefront, and runs on private aquifer water rights rather than municipal supply. The same team is now building Zion Shores, a larger community about 25 minutes away in Washington, Utah, which adds a PerfectSwell traveling-wave lagoon alongside two more standing waves and is targeting mid-2027.
The UNIT system here is a 16-meter-wide floating standing wave, billed by the vendor as the second-largest standing wave in the United States. It shares the property with a separate boat/ski lake and a cable wakeboard lake, so it's one part of a broader private watersports layout rather than a standalone attraction.
