Austin Surf Club

Austin Surf Club is a private surf and condo community on the former NLand Surf Park site in Del Valle, southeast of Austin, developed by Kelly Slater and Scottsdale-based Discovery Land Company. The development broke ground on 2 January 2025 and covers more than 330 acres, with 147 residences according to The Real Deal. In April 2026 The Real Deal, citing the Austin Business Journal, reported that construction had paused after seven businesses filed $4.6 million in liens. By July the liens had passed $16 million, and the developers had petitioned to create a municipal management district that would raise about $171 million in property tax for wastewater, utilities and roads. The Real Deal reported that the developer was looking to restart construction, without a date.

The surf basin uses Kelly Slater Wave Company technology, the system behind the Surf Ranch in Lemoore, California. The club describes it as the world's largest surf basin powered by Kelly Slater surf tech. The Real Deal reports plans for several surf basins, including a 20-acre outer reef intended to generate 10-foot waves. No wave menu or settings have been published.

Buyers in the development. Surfing is tied to the private community and its memberships, so it is not a park where the public books a session.

No surf prices have been published. Access runs through the residences and a limited number of surfing memberships; their prices have not been published by the developer.

Nothing to book. The nearest operating public surf park is Waco Surf, about 1 hour 55 minutes north by car. The site is about 15 minutes from Austin-Bergstrom airport.
