Austin Surf Club is a private residential community taking shape on more than 240 acres in Del Valle, just southeast of Austin, Texas. It is a partnership between Discovery Land Company, known for its members-only lifestyle communities, and eleven-time world champion Kelly Slater. The plan calls for 178 private residences arranged around a 2,200-foot Kelly Slater Wave Co surf basin, which the developers expect to be one of the largest man-made surf basins in the world.
Beyond the wave, the community is planned with a wellness spa, farm-to-table dining, trail systems, paddle sports, and a skate park. Unlike some Discovery Land communities where membership is tied strictly to homeownership, Austin Surf Club is also expected to offer club memberships. As of early 2026 the project was on hold: several contractors filed liens totaling roughly $4.6 million, pausing construction, so the timeline is uncertain.
The community is anchored by a Kelly Slater Wave Co wave lagoon. It shares its surf with Austin Surf Club.
