The wave pool at Cabo Real Surf Club in Los Cabos is filling. The Cabo Mag reported on 18 September 2026 that water had started going into the four-acre basin, a process expected to take 30 to 40 days, and that initial surfing is expected in December 2026.
That makes December the date to watch for what the outlet calls Mexico's first surf wave pool.
What is being filled
The basin runs an Endless Surf ES48, the pneumatic system in which banks of air chambers push out waves that can be reshaped between sets. It needs roughly 26 million litres of water, which comes from a desalination plant on site.
Endless Surf described the project at its December 2024 launch as North America's first Endless Surf wave basin. It sits inside the 3,000-acre Cabo Real masterplan at Km 19.5 on the highway between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, developed by Meriwether Companies with the Sánchez Navarro family.
Who can surf it
Access is limited to members, who must own property in the community, and their invited guests. No public sessions are planned, so for a visiting surfer this is a place to watch rather than book.
What it costs to get in
The way in is through real estate. The developer's offering starts with ocean-view villas from about $1.4 million, with a collection of 31 three-bedroom Surf Casitas at around $2.75 million, Boardwalk Homes on the edge of the basin and larger estate lots.
