Verified October 2026
Wavespot is a planned surf park at Sand, outside Jessheim in Ullensaker, a few minutes from Oslo Airport Gardermoen. The company has secured a six-year option on an 80,000 square metre plot zoned for sport, just west of the Olaløkka sports ground, and plans a large wave pool at its centre, with cabins, sauna and Nordic food around it. Founders Anders Jørgensen, Øyvind Hollo-Klausen and Petter Billington have been joined as owners by Andy Hadden, Nick Watson and Chris Bain, the team behind Lost Shore Surf Resort in Edinburgh, and snowboarder Terje Haakonsen has invested.
No wave technology has been named. Wavespot describes a large pool producing surfable waves for both beginners and experienced surfers. The Norwegian board sports federation, Brettforbundet, backs the project, which would give national team surfers a training venue at home.
No session pricing announced. Crowdfunding packages of 500, 1,000, 1,500 and 2,000 kroner include pre-opening sessions and opening-party tickets if the park is completed.
Nothing to book. The site is about 15 minutes by car from Oslo Airport Gardermoen and, by the project's own figure, about 35 minutes from central Oslo.

When does Wavespot open?
No opening date has been announced for Wavespot, which has been announced but not started. This is an early-stage project. Wavespot holds an option on the land rather than owning it, technical surveys and zoning work are still to come, and the company will not give a construction start or opening date, saying surf parks normally take four to five years to realise. It says it has funding for the next phase and is also raising money through crowdfunding, and contributions are not refunded if the park is not built.
Where is Wavespot?
Wavespot is in Jessheim, Akershus, Norway. The nearest airport is Oslo Airport Gardermoen, about 15 minutes by car.
