El Segundo Surf Club is a planned surf club on an approximately 9.3-acre site at 100-200 South Nash Street in El Segundo, beside the Metro K Line's El Segundo station and about a mile south of LAX. El Segundo's City Council approved the project on 15 September 2026 and adopted an ordinance amending the site's development agreement and specific plan on 6 October 2026, relying on the 2015 environmental impact report for the El Segundo South Campus, the former Raytheon campus. The plans center on a large oval surf wave pool, with a standing wave pool, two recreational pools, padel courts and four three-story buildings, including a members-only Founder's Club, a restaurant open to non-members and a general admission entrance. The applicant is El Segundo Surf Club, LLC, led by Colin O'Byrne of Inland Pacific Companies; a company tied to Vinny Smith's Toba Capital bought the land for $54 million in 2025, and Smith is a major investor in Palm Springs Surf Club. The applicant's plans use the name Palms Surf Club.
The centerpiece is a large oval surf wave pool, about 600 feet long according to the city's staff report, with a separate standing wave pool. No wave supplier has been announced, but the city record points to SurfLoch, whose system runs Palm Springs Surf Club: the project's water study credits SurfLoch for its wave pool information, and the plans show pump caisson rooms beside the pool. The wave system described in the city's environmental review runs on electric servo motors. In 2025 the developers described waves lasting up to 20 seconds.
