East Point Reef Club

East Point Reef Club is a surf park and thermal spa under development at Bridal Falls (Popkum), BC, about an hour east of Vancouver on Highway 1. It uses Ka'ana Wave Co's CM7 surf pool, billed as the first of its kind in Canada. A partial opening covering the eatery, surf supply store, and general store happened in June 2025; the surf pool and spa are targeting spring 2026.

The pool runs on Ka'ana Wave Co's CM7, a standing-wave format where riders stay in one spot and surf against a stationary flow rather than chasing a peeling wave across a lagoon. Ka'ana piloted the CM7 at a pop-up site in Britannia Beach, BC in 2022, giving the technology some real-world testing before this permanent installation. Pool dimensions, wave height ranges, and the full settings menu for the Bridal Falls unit have not been publicly disclosed.

Standing-wave formats are generally accessible for beginners and intermediate riders who want coached repetitions without paddling, and the park's own language covers everyone from first-timers to experienced surfers. How the upper settings perform for advanced surfers has not been independently reported, so seasoned surfers should watch for session reviews once the pool opens.
