No system price has been published. The inflatable construction should sit well below the $1.5 to $2.5 million range typical of fixed-basin standing waves, since it avoids the civil works, but the company has not disclosed a figure and no independent estimate exists.
YourWave is a standing wave, but its construction is unlike any other in this directory: instead of a poured-concrete pool, it uses a patented inflatable, chambered, air-filled structure to shape the water. Pumps push a continuous flow over that inflated form to hold a stationary wave in place, and the deep-water design means riders use real surfboards with fins rather than finless bodyboards. The shape is adjustable across skill levels and can be set to break either left or right, or flattened into a mellow face for beginners. Because the structure is inflatable rather than civil-engineered, the system is far more portable than a fixed pool, which is the main thing that sets it apart commercially.
YourWave was invented by Ross McCarthy, a New Zealand industrial product designer who built the first prototype in his own backyard at Lake Hawea before opening it commercially in 2023. It is the only wave system in this directory developed and built in New Zealand, and its single installation, near Wanaka on the South Island, is billed as the country's first commercial surf facility.
