El Nido is a low-density residential masterplan on a 66-hectare site between Punta del Este and Jose Ignacio, in Maldonado, Uruguay. Designed by the architecture firm Gomez Platero, it is organized around 397 lots of roughly 1,000 square meters each, with a Wavegarden surf lagoon and artificial beach as the central amenity, the first private wave pool of its kind in the country.
A 7.5-hectare amenities program supports the community with a surf academy, beach club, a small lodge, a spa and gym, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis, padel and squash courts, a soccer field, a skatepark and pump track, and forest trails. The development is under construction, with underground services and roads going in and home construction expected to begin in 2026.
The community is anchored by a Wavegarden Cove wave lagoon. It shares its surf with El Nido.
